Why choose Lipid Panel PTS test strips for your CardioChek?
When lipid monitoring requires more than total cholesterol alone, a complete lipid panel becomes essential. Lipid Panel PTS test strips, manufactured by PTS Diagnostics (Indianapolis, USA) and distributed in Europe by Euromedix, deliver in a single measurement the four major lipid parameters for cardiovascular diagnosis: total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL cholesterol calculated using the Friedewald formula. A single strip, a drop of capillary or venous blood, and the CardioChek analyzer returns the entire clinically usable lipid profile in two minutes.
Designed for use with the CardioChek P-A and CardioChek Plus analyzers, these strips are the reference for medical practices, community pharmacies, nursing practices and pharmacy-based cardiovascular screening programmes. Their CLIA-Waived certification in the United States (a simplified procedure for tests performed outside the laboratory) confirms accuracy sufficient for community clinical practice without a medical-biology platform. On the European side, the CE marking places the product within the IVDR regulatory framework.
Dry-chemistry technology calibrated by MEMo Chip™
The measurement principle relies on photometric reflectometry on enzymatic dry chemistry. When the sample is deposited (40 µL of capillary or venous blood), the strip's reactive area triggers an enzyme cascade specific to each lipid parameter, the coloured product of which is read by the optical sensor of the CardioChek analyzer. The exclusive PTS MEMo Chip™ technology stores on a lot-specific electronic chip the calibration curve, lot number and expiry date: simply insert the chip into the analyzer to automatically calibrate the reading, with no manual entry.
This architecture guarantees a between-lots consistency particularly appreciated by healthcare professionals, who can run consecutive patients without any setup step between measurements. The rigour of the PTS protocol meets the global standard for decentralised analyses (Point-of-Care Testing).
Measurement ranges and automatic calculations
| Total cholesterol | 50 to 500 mg/dL |
| HDL cholesterol | 20 to 120 mg/dL |
| Triglycerides | 25 to 500 mg/dL |
| LDL cholesterol (calculated) | Friedewald formula: LDL = TC − HDL − (TG / 5) |
| TC / HDL ratio | Calculated automatically by the analyzer — cardiovascular risk factor |
The automatic calculation of LDL cholesterol and the TC/HDL ratio from the three directly measured parameters allows immediate reading of the patient's overall cardiovascular risk profile, without manual calculation or conversion table. The result is used like a complete lipid panel equivalent to that delivered by a medical-biology laboratory, except that it is available on the spot.

Why a complete lipid panel rather than isolated parameters?
Cardiovascular risk assessment never relies on a single marker. A patient may have normal total cholesterol but a collapsed HDL and high triglycerides typical of metabolic syndrome; conversely, an elevated total cholesterol may consist mostly of HDL — a favourable picture. Only the complete panel with calculation of LDL and TC/HDL ratio allows correct risk stratification and adjustment of therapeutic management. This is why the recommendations of HAS, ESC (European Society of Cardiology) and AFSSAPS all require a complete lipid panel for the follow-up of dyslipidaemic patients.
When to use this panel?
The Lipid Panel PTS is particularly indicated for:
- Cardiovascular screening in medical practice, community pharmacy or nursing practice (prevention programmes)
- The follow-up of dyslipidaemic patients under prescribed statins, fibrates or omega-3, to validate the therapeutic response between two laboratory panels
- High cardiovascular-risk profiles (family history of early infarction, hypertension, tobacco, diabetes) requiring close monitoring
- Patients equipped with a personal CardioChek wishing for advanced at-home self-monitoring under their general practitioner's coordination
- Clinical studies and public-health programmes requiring a reliable and reproducible decentralised test
Important: sampling conditions
For a clinically interpretable reading, sampling must be performed after a strict 12-hour fast (water allowed). This instruction is mandatory for triglyceride measurement, the postprandial value of which can multiply the result by 2 or 3. Blood may be drawn either by capillary from the finger (using a sterile lancet) or by venous puncture according to the practitioner's protocol. The required volume is exactly 40 µL, deposited using a PTS mini-pipette on the strip's reactive area.
SanteShop's expertise and proximity since 2004
For over 20 years, SanteShop has been one of the reference distributors in France of the PTS Diagnostics CardioChek system. Choosing your Lipid Panel refills on our site means a product stored in France in controlled temperature conditions to preserve the integrity of the reactive enzymes, fast shipping from Marseille and complete lot traceability. Refills are permanently available to ensure continuity of your screening activity or personal follow-up.
This device is a regulated medical product carrying, by virtue of this regulation, the CE marking and the United States CLIA-Waived certification. Read the instructions carefully. These tests do not replace a complete laboratory panel or follow-up by a healthcare professional. In the event of an abnormal result or in the presence of symptoms, consult a doctor.
